About the Founder
Naima Yetunde Ince has been taking the Triangle area by storm. Naima Yetunde Ince, also known as NYI has significant accomplishments within the New York City area as a performance poet and produces and directs theatrical works. Originally from Brooklyn NY, a recent resident, of Raleigh North Carolina, NYI has already left her signature mark at various spoken word venues. Some highlights include; directing an original one act play entitled Men Always Leave; at the first annual Women’s Theater Festival NC in the summer of 2016. The one-act stage play was published by Writers Block Publishing in June 2016. Men Always Leave Returns to Stage at The Cary Theater; the first weekend in February 2019, adapted Men Always Leave from stage to screen. The pilot episode, "Maya's Secret" of the series drama; is available on social media platforms,Youtube and Facebook.The new development of her work, quickly ignited the fuel to her desires to develop her own production company. Therefore, Naima Yetunde Ince founded N.Y.I Productions LLC. and her name gives precedence to the entity that is N.Y.I Productions LLC. She has been a feature reader with the Main Street Rag Writers Group. Released the limited edition of her 3rd book entitled "Ghost Load" in winter of 2017 and was featured in the Indy week March 13,2017 issue. NYI’S books can be found at the local So & So Bookstore on Person Street in Raleigh. So and So Bookstore. NYI lead the Theater Cafe discussion; Women of color:Powerful Playwrights, sponsored by the Town of Cary March 2018. Naima's Ghost Load Second Edition is now available. The Limited Edition Ghost Load is now a collectors item among her other published titles.
NYI, active in theater for over 10 years. One of the most exciting highlights of her career was working alongside Mr. Melvin Van Peebles on the adaptation of Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Song-directed by Melvin Van Peebles. NYI, tripled as a production assistant, stage manager and actress and traveled with the company to Paris, France in the winter of 2010. Ince says, my goal is to reach my community and beyond. Sky's the limit.
